Hi-fire enamel for metals, special lead-free formula. Suitable for copper, tombac, silver (at least 925), gold and iron. After firing the colour is durable, clean and bright.
How to use it: Transparent version:
these enamels can be applied either dry or in liquid form on metals such as gold, copper and silver.
The following colours need silver flux 8100 before application on silver: 8103 - 8104 - 8106 - 8107 - 8124 - 8134
The flux can also be used with copper to enrich the colour. The colours 8103 - 8104 and 8134 are very sensitive to copper, we recommend to always use them over a layer of flux.
We recommend to apply the following colours on a soft flux instead of a normal one: 8103 - 8104 - 8107 - 8108 - 8111 - 8112 - 8113 - 8114 - 8117 - 8119 - 8120 - 8121 - 8123 - 8124 - 8127 - 8130 - 8133 - 8134
Supplied in standard 60 mesh.
Recommended firing temperature: 820 - 850° C..
All colours withstand short pickling cycles (5 minutes) while being slightly dulled in longer pickling cycles (30 minutes).
In the pictures, the samples marked with the letter "R" are made with enamel directly on copper, the samples marked with the letter "A" are made with enamel on silver leaf, the samples marked with the letter "F" are made with enamel on flux.
Matt version: these enamels can be applied either dry or in liquid form on metals such as gold, copper and silver.
The following colours need silver flux 8100 before application on silver: 8002 - 8021 - 8025.
Some opaque colours have grains of different colours which contribute to an interesting speckled effect. To eliminate this effect, it will be necessary to grind the glaze further using a ceramic mortar.
The grains of the glaze can be removed from the ceramic mortar.
Fired in standard 80 mesh grain.
Recommended firing temperature: 780 - 800° C..
All the colours resist short pickling cycles (5 minutes) while they are slightly dulled in longer pickling cycles (30 minutes). Colours 8009 - 8015 and 8018 withstand more than 30 minutes of immersion in an acid solution without losing their lustre. Colors may vary from production batch to batch.
