Detailed description

J. Herbin Plastiline is a high precision and non-toxic professional use modeling clay, particularly appreciated by sculptors and moldmakers all over the world.

Key features

  • Completely non-toxic and free of sulfur
  • Reproduction accuracy is 1/10 of a millimeter
  • Very firm, always maintains its volume
  • It never air dries, can be used as often as needed
  • Compatible with polyurethanes and polycondensation silicones. Rare cases of inhibition can be found with polyaddition silicones
  • It can be used with alginates, gypsum or resins without the use of release agents
  • It can be processed in three different states: solid, softened or liquid (heating in bainmarie) thanks to its multiple hardnesses and its chemical composition

Plastiline by J. Herbin is available in different colors and in 5 different hardnesses:

  • 40 - extra soft
  • 50 - soft
  • 55 - standard
  • 60 - medium / hard
  • 70 - hard

It is highly recommended to increase the hardness according to the size of the object, the complexity and the fineness of the details.

Since the clay is miscible, it is possible to use multiple hardnesses and colors on the same model.

We recommend preferably using light color plasticine (ivory, napoli pink) for contact with resins and elastomers.
