Instructions for use
The colors from the Classic line are meant to be used mixed with oils, universal medium, fat essence or soft oil.
Each color has its own absorption and there is no exact and universal mixing quantity, it depends on the techniques.
The important thing is to obtain a fluid mixture that can be brushed. There are several techniques.
Classic technique: color + medium 550 (F001381) or color + oil essence. Ratio: 2 parts color + 1 part medium or oil essence. If a more liquid color is desired for glazing, add half a drop of lavender or citronella essence. The mixture will eventually dry.
Soft oil technique: color + soft oil (23377). The color should be dosed to obtain a slightly thick paste, similar to toothpaste. In this case, a flat brush moistened with soft oil is used to apply the color. The mixture never dries until the decorated object is baked in a ceramic oven. The mixed colors can be used even after weeks because they remain soft.
Aqueous medium technique: color + aqueous medium (23380). Ratio: 2 parts color + 1 part water-based medium. The color is applied like watercolor, with light, medium, or heavy strokes using a wet brush.
The color chart
Showcases some combinations that can be achieved by mixing the selected colors. Additional combinations can be obtained by mixing different percentages of colors or multiple colors together.
In this color chart, the colors have been mixed in an approximate 50-50 ratio (by volume, not weight).
How to read it: the last boxes on the right in the diagonal show the pure color, the intersections between two pure colors create the color produced by mixing them together.
