DEKA TRANSPARENT - SOLVENT-BASED COLORS FOR GLASS

DEKA-Transparent is the ideal solvent-based color for painting on glass and metal foils, for emblems and for many other applications.

How to use

• Stir DEKA-Transparent well before use.
• Before starting any glass painting project, clean the surface to be painted thoroughly and keep it free of dust, grease and fingerprints throughout the process. Detergents are not suitable for cleaning: we recommend a solvent such as white spirit.
• Used with the pastes for contours in relief (contour paste) it can give an effect similar to that of leaded glass. Both the Contour Black and the Contour paste must be rolled out first and possibly fired separately. Only after this first firing are the other colors applied. If the Contour Black is then polished with a rough cloth, a metallic effect is obtained.
• Use DEKA-Transparent a soft and dry bristle brush.
• If the product is applied in generous quantities, a uniform layer and good resistance to light will be obtained. If applied sparingly or if the paint has been thinned, the lightfastness will decrease dramatically.
• If several colors are painted on top of each other, the first coat must first be heat cured
  before you can apply the next color.
• Allow freshly painted surfaces to dry completely in a dust-free area at room temperature.
  The paint will be touch dry in approximately 2 hours (depending on the thickness of the coating) and will be completely dry in 3 days.
• Thermal curing (30 minutes - 170°C) will further improve its adhesive strength and scratch resistance.
• All colors can be mixed with each other. It is possible to obtain lighter shades by mixing with Extender 02-00.
• Clean brushes and other tools immediately after use with DEKA-Transparent 02-98 thinner.
• If necessary, the colors can be diluted (up to max. 5%) with DEKA-Transparent Thinner 02-98.
• DEKA-Transparent is a colored varnish that is particularly suitable for all types of wood, as the wood grain remains visible.
• DEKA-Transparent Extender no. 02-00 can also be used as a protective or coating paint in many applications.
• Stains with DEKA-Transparent cannot be removed.
• DEKA-Transparent is a decorative paint and therefore not weather resistant.
