Detailed description
Ebony (Diospyros crassiflora) is an all time favourite of woodworkers, already the Egyptians used it for precious and fine works of art, its brilliant appearance and good qualities. The wood is hard and heavy, has a very straight and fine texture with metallic lustre, it finishes smoothly and takes a high glossy polish. Ebony is generally black but very often typical lighter streaks appear, giving the wood yet more attractivity.
